The Foreign Affairs Office of Chengdu 

Municipal People’s Government completed 

in December 2023 the revision of the digital 

version of Chinese-English bilingual edition 

of Home in Chengdu Living Guide 

(hereinafter referred to as the Guide), which 

is complemented with updated maps for 

practical applications, news updates and 

policies, the external link information QR 

code, and tailored advice for various needs, 

as well as information on the facility and 

ICH resources for public use after the 

closing of Chengdu 2021 FISU World 

University Games, held in Chengdu in 

August 2023. The revised edition is aimed 

to help foreign nationals living in Chengdu 

better know the undertakings in the city on 

its way towards modernity with Chinese 

characteristics and enhance the global image 

of Chengdu as a city of openness and cultural 

tolerance, in order to attract more foreigners 

to come to the city, settle down in the city 

and integrate themselves with local life and 

make contributions to the development of 

the city.

2023年12月，成都市人民政府外事办公室对中英双语城市手册《“家在成都”生活指南》（以下简称《指南》）进行了电子版修订，通过更新各类实用地图、介绍最新政策资讯、新增外链信息二维码等，针对不同需求提供更加精细的服务和指南，并将成都第31届世界大学生夏季运动会可持续利用的物质财富和人文成果纳入版块内容，希望借此向在蓉外籍人士展示中国式现代化万千气象的成都篇章和城市开放包容的国际化形象，吸引更多外籍人士来到成都、融入成都、留在成都，为成都的发展建设作出积极贡献。

The revised Guide is released simultaneously 

on the column of Home in Chengdu at the 

official website of the Foreign Affairs Office 

of Chengdu Municipal People’s Government 

and the official WeChat account of Home in 

Chengdu.

Highlights in the revised edition include

《指南》四大版块修订的重点如下

a. The telephone number of National 

Immigration Administration has been added 

to the list of Emergency/Important Calls.

1. “紧急/重要电话”新增国家移民管理局热线。

b. The external information link QR code 

has been included, to provide guide on using 

Alipay for Chengdu metro, tram and city 

bus transportation.

2. 新增外链信息二维码，扫码即可查看使用支付宝乘坐成都地铁、有轨电车、城市公交指南。

a. The part of Tour of Culture and Art 

provides information on more public 

cultural venues, such as Chengdu Museum, 

Museum of Chengdu 2021 FISU World 

University Games, Sichuan Library and 

Chengdu Library, offering more options for 

experience on exhibition and reading.

1.“文艺之旅”部分，新增成都市美术馆、成都大运会博物馆、四川省图书馆、成都市图书馆等公共文化空间，为看展、阅读等增加新的选择。

b. The part of Tour of Nature provides 

information on popular parks in the city, 

with the new entries including the World 

Sci-fi Park (venue for the 2023 Chengdu 

World Science Fiction Convention, October 

18-22, 2023), Tianfu Art Park (which hosted 

Chengdu Biennale many times), the newly 

opened Donghuamen Ruins Park. New ways 

of information presentation, such as quick 

browse at code scanning and highlights, 

provide detailed guide to appreciate the 

sister cities sculpture works 

2. “生态之旅”部分，全新呈现热门公园，新增曾举办2023成都世界科幻大会的世界科幻公园、多次举办成都双年展的天府艺术公园、2023年全新开放的东华门遗址公园；通过扫码跳转+亮点呈现的形式，带来最完整的成都友城雕塑游览指南。

c. The Quick Search has been reinforced 

with added varied information on new 

entries of National A-class scenic spots to 

provide resourceful assistance to travelers.

3. “快速检索”部分，大量新增成都市域范围内国家级A级景区，为出行旅游提供完备目的地指南。

The revised edition has included the Plan 

of Key Projects in Chengdu 2023, the 

updated version of Q&A for Investment 

and Entrepreneurship, and resourceful 

information on investment policies, 

foreign trade overview of Chengdu, 

investment targets and so on.

《2023年成都市重点项目计划》、投资创业Q&A全面更新，从投资政策、成都进出口概况，到投资载体等维度，全面解答在成都投资创业相关问题。

a. Updated guide, as well as detailed 

explanations on questions related to 

“qualifications for applying” and 

“procedures on applying”, have been 

added in the part of How to Apply for 

Permanent Resident ID Card.

1.“如何申请永居证？”部分，呈现全新的“永居证”申请指南，详细解答“哪些人员符合受理条件”“如何申请及办理”等问题。

b. In the part of “Commonly used Mandarin 

and Sichuan Dialect”, external link 

information QR code is provided. Scanning 

the code will give you access to free and 

paid online Chinese teaching courses for 

institutions hosted by Huaqiao College of 

the Open University of Chengdu.

2. “有哪些常用普通话或四川话”部分，新增外链信息二维码，扫码即可了解成都开放大学华侨学院针对机构开设的免费/付费线上中文教学。

c. In “International Medical Service” of 

the part of “Quick Search”, external link 

information QR codes are provided for the 

search of the latest list of medical 

institutions qualified for international 

medical care in Chengdu; The latest news 

on the sports facilities for Chengdu 2021 

FISU World University Games opened to 

the public after the event is provided in 

“Sports Venues”.

3. “快速检索”部分，“国际医疗”栏目新增外链信息二维码，扫码即可查看成都市具备国际医疗服务能力医疗机构最新名单；“体育场馆”栏目重点新增成都大运会惠民开放场馆信息。

Since its official release in February of 

2023, the illustrated Guide has provided 

authoritative, convenient, and thoughtful 

solutions for foreign nationals residing, 

conducting business, studying, traveling, 

and enjoying leisure activities in Chengdu

in the short and long term. It has received 

widespread acclaim from foreign nationals 

in Chengdu, and enhances their sense of 

integration and identification with the city.
